FAIR TRADE EXTRAVAGANZA!

Fair Trade.  An oft used phrase that many of us really don’t understand.  During the Presbytery Gathering on March 25th we will give life to that phrase.  Join us for a FAIR TRADE EXTRAVAGANZA whereby several organizations that support artisans and farmers in making sustainable development choices with materials and production techniques, financial resources, and social programs that benefit entire communities will be featured.  Equal Exchange, PC(USA) Sweatfree T’s, and  Just Coffee from Presbyterian Coffee Project will join SERRV of Church World Services to offer you a sample of what a Fair Trade Market could look like.

At 2pm a free workshop will be offered by a representative of SERRV on hosting a Fair Trade Market in your congregation.  It is simple, cost-free (all items are sent to you on a consignment basis and shipping is free) and can earn a youth group, woman’s association, or any other group, money for mission, justice, and other projects of your choice. Please contact Deb Milcarek to register.  The workshop is open to anyone in your congregation who might be interested!

From 3pm to 4pm and during the dinner hour, a Fair Trade Market will be open for your shopping pleasure.  We will offer a wide variety of SERRV merchandise (CWS is in nearby New Windsor!) and we can accept checks

Visa /MC, and cash.  Any proceeds from this event will be designated for Presbyterian Disaster Assistance Chile and Haiti Relief. Come to shop!  Come to learn!  It is our small efforts that will change the world!

Peace and blessings

Deb Milcarek
