A Call for Prayers

My Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

I invite your prayers for your brothers and sisters in three of our

churches:

Towson Presbyterian Church

A group of twenty five youth and adults is in Mississippi working on Gulf Coast rehabilitation. On Sunday one of the vans transporting the group was hit by a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed. Two of the youth sustained injuries and returned to Towson and the remaining members of the group elected to continue their work. One of the persons in the other vehicle died and the other is in critical condition. As you can imagine, this has been difficult for both the participants as well as their family members in Towson. They will be returning on Saturday afternoon. I invite your prayers and the prayers of your congregation for all of these people and the staff of Towson Presbyterian Church as they carry out their ministry this week.

New Imani Community Church

This week the New Imani Community Church has been moving out of the building they have used on Liberty Road. Mt Paran Presbyterian Church has graciously welcomed them into their building while New Imani waits to hear if their lease for a building in Owings Mills has been accepted. It is always difficult for a congregation to leave space that has become sacred for them and to move forward, not knowing exactly where God will lead them. I invite your prayers and the prayers of your congregation for our brothers and sisters at New Imani - that the Spirit might sustain them in their journey.

Taiwanese Presbyterian Church

The Taiwanese Presbyterian Church congregation has also been meeting in the building used by New Imani. They, too, have had to relocate. Northminster Presbyterian Church has been gracious to offer them space in which to worship. Your prayers for this small but dedicated congregation are also sought.

Presbytery of Baltimore

These have also been challenging times in the life of the Presbytery of Baltimore and there are those amongst us who feel troubled by our last meeting. I would ask that you and your congregation also pray for this people of God.

May you be blessed in this coming week and be grateful that God is with us all the days of our lives.

Blessings,

Peter Nord
