DIRECTOR OF CHRISTIAN EDUCATION

St. John United Church [United Methodist/Presbyterian (USA)], a diverse, progressive congregation in Columbia, is seeking a half-time Director of Christian Education to provide leadership for our Christian education program. This is a half-time position (20 hours/week).

The DCE is responsible and accountable for Christian Education at SJU. Christian Education is comprised of several ministries; nursery, children, youth, college-age, family, Sunday School, camping, library, Faith Development (adult), and youth programs (including the Appalachia Service Project).

The DCE helps to create a vision for Christian Education at SJU, interprets that vision and empowers existing Christian Education ministries and builds new ministries. The DCE oversees and helps to coordinate the ministries of Christian Education.

YOUTH MINISTRIES COORDINATOR

Mt. Hebron Presbyterian Church is seeking a Youth Ministries Coordinator to provide guidance and oversight to our middle school and high school youth programs. (Approximately 30 active youth in total). Duties include: running (with adult help) the youth group’s Sunday night programs; working with two or more adults in the church plan and oversee activities for each youth group; establishing a personal relationship with the youth to support them in the various trials and tasks of growing up; and working with the minister and the Ministry of Nurture and Spiritual Growth to enhance, strengthen, and expand the youth groups.
