We’re glad you are here and hope that you will use this website to familiarize yourself with Renewing the Vision, participate in Renewing the Vision, and truly be the new vision of the Presbytery of Baltimore.  In listening and observing there are three yearnings that have surfaced: 1. The resurgence of spirituality 2. A hunger for genuine/authentic community 3. The hope for presbytery to be an agent of           nourishment   These yearnings are prompting questions about the nature and purpose of Presbytery of Baltimore.

What we’re doing!

We’re discerning together for a year beginning in June 2009.  In that time we are capturing a vision for the Presbytery of Baltimore in its life together.  There are big question urge us forward –“Are we all that God wants us to be?”  “Where is God leading us?”

What are some of the resources?

The most important resource is the prayer and discernment of the members of the Presbytery!  Additionally, there are some print resources that have helped to focus our prayer and discernment.  Please follow this link to those resources.

Why you?

You are significant.  Your voice counts.  Your views are important.  One of the central convictions of the Vision Committee of Council is that this process of renewing the vision should not be “top-down,” but should include presbyters and sessions as primary points of contact.

What’s next?

Over the summer you will begin to find here a blog of sorts.  Every two weeks an issue will be posed and you will be invited to enter the conversation with your view.  In the coming months our presbytery gatherings (meetings) will be opportunities for discussion, information, and participation.  There will also be emails to ministers and elders.  There will be cluster meetings for Sessions as well as engagement on biblical and theological issues around Renewing the Vision.
