MISSION OUTREACH

The Presbytery of Baltimore seeks to support churches in their ministries and their outreach to their communities.  The Presbytery divides its ministry into four broad categories: Mission; Justice; Church Growth and Evangelism; and, Leadership Development. These areas provide important assistance to churches as they seek to advance their own ministries.

Our programs extend the ministry of each individual church as together we underwrite important mission work in Maryland and around the world, as we seek to build a more just world, help churches to grow and plant new churches, and provide church leaders with the tools they need to advance and deepen their own ministry.  We invite you to look deeper into this site and discover what God is doing in and around the Presbytery of Baltimore.

You will find on the linked pages a description of the Global Mission Partnerships we have with our sisters and brothers in Guatemala, Cuba, and the Dakota Presbytery (South Dakota).  You will read about how the Presbytery partners with its congregations to support vital ministries within our communities. Also important to the Presbytery’s ministry is its concern for issues of Peace and Justice.  You will find a number of Task Groups dealing with pressing issues in our society.

We like to say our Mission efforts seek to meet the immediate needs of people and our Justice efforts seek to change society so that those needs will no longer go unmet. Of equal concern is our effort to help churches be transformed into missional entities ready to meet the challenges of the 21st Century.  We are also committed to new church development.  And in order to grow Christ’s Church we seek to provide Leadership Development. Finally you will be able to access information regarding our work with youth, Presbyterian Women and Presbyterian Men.
