DESCRIPTION:\n\n\n\nThe Special Meeting to discuss the proposal about The Center has been postponed indefinitely. We are not taking this action lightly. But after reviewing the new guidelines from the CDC, becoming aware of other closings at major institutions around the region, and in the desire to exercise an abundance of caution for the good of all, we have unanimously agreed on this course of action.\nAs all are aware, there are many unknowns about how Covid-19 will spread, how it will affect communities, and when a return to normal can be expected. Because no one can predict when it will be safe to gather, we are considering alternative ways to effectively be in dialogue with each of you. We were looking forward to hearing from you next week, as we discern the path forward for the Presbytery and all of our ministries, including The Center. Center discussions and decisions remain a priority. As we determine the best ways to safely engage the Presbytery in the discussions, we will let you know. Please continue to monitor your email and the Presbytery website for information.\nThe second item on the agenda, the approval of a 2020 balanced budget presented by the Administration Committee, will be taken up by the Steering Cabinet in accordance with Presbytery Manual 6.5.11 which allows Steering Cabinet to act on behalf of Presbytery if it determines that a delay until the next Presbytery meeting will adversely affect the mission of the Presbytery, any of its members or particular churches.
