Healthy Boundaries Training
The Commission on Ministry is offering a Healthy Boundaries Introductory Class on May 17 from 9:00 AM to 3:30 PM via zoom. This is a required training for new pastors in the Presbytery. To register, contact Carol Eshelman at email@example.com or Felicia Scott at the presbytery office. The class will be facilitated by Amy Carlson and Carol Eshelman.
The “Healthy Boundaries” refresher training program is required for all Teaching Elders, Commissioned Ruling Elders, and Certified Christian Educators who work or live within the bounds of the Presbytery of Baltimore. Ruling Elders from local congregations are also invited and encouraged to attend this program.
Developed by the FaithTrust Institute (www.faithtrustinstitute.org), the purpose of the spiritually-based “Healthy Boundaries” program is:
+ To increase awareness of the need for healthy and appropriate boundaries in the clergy/congregant or spiritual teacher/student relationship,
+ To illustrate the impact of appropriate vs. inappropriate boundaries in promoting effective ministry,
+ To provide clergy and spiritual teachers/leaders with guidelines and suggestions for developing appropriate boundaries and necessary self-care strategies.
