Brown Memorial Presbyterian Church & Govans Presbyterian Church
Food Justice Farming and Meal Preparation: To support their ongoing Rock Rose Food Justice partnership. The project grows and distributes more than a ton of fresh produce each year to nonprofit meal programs and food pantries across Baltimore, while also offering hands-on environmental education to students, volunteers, and neighborhood partners. Grant funds will expand farm infrastructure, strengthen Soul Kitchen’s food preparation capacity, and support youth workforce development. The collaboration addresses food insecurity, promotes justice, and deepens relationships between congregations and the communities they serve. ($10,000)
Faith Presbyterian Church
Nexus-Woodbourne Cooking Program: An off-campus culinary training initiative for teens in residential treatment at Nexus-Woodbourne Family Healing. The eight-week classes provide kitchen skills, ServSafe instruction, and shared meals that build confidence, promote healing, and foster intergenerational relationships between teens, staff, and church volunteers. Grant funding will support a professional chef—himself a Nexus-Woodbourne alumnus—along with curriculum materials, food costs, and certification fees, with long-term plans to develop a student-produced cottage-industry food item for income and sustainability. ($ 4,000)
Franklinville Presbyterian Church
Franklinville Center for Sacred Art: A new initiative exploring the cultural, ecological, and spiritual heritage of the Gunpowder region. The project will develop workshops, listening sessions, exhibits, musical gatherings, and community walks in collaboration with area churches and local organizations, including partners in African American history, Indigenous storytelling, and environmental stewardship. Grant funding will support a part-time research and development director to coordinate programming and expand partnerships across the Susquehanna Parish and wider community. ($10,000)
Grace Presbyterian Church
Children, Youth, and Family Outreach Ministry: A longstanding and multifaceted program serving low- and moderate-income families in North Baltimore. The initiative combines academic enrichment, meals, intergenerational mentoring, arts and dance, leadership development, karate instruction, and large seasonal community events—reaching hundreds of children and caregivers each year. Grant funding will underwrite program costs across the Summer Fun enrichment camp, weekly JAM gatherings, youth stipends through partnership programs, and community festivals, strengthening Grace’s ongoing commitment to a safe, nurturing, and educational environment for neighborhood families. ($10,000)
Towson Presbyterian Church
“Casting Our Nets” Project: An outreach initiative aimed at connecting with young parents and families in the neighborhoods surrounding the church. The project strengthens partnerships with the West Towson and Southland Hills neighborhood associations and expands recently launched parent groups, using shared events, outdoor gatherings, and small-group support to build relationships with families who frequent the church’s preschool but are not yet connected to the congregation. Grant funds will support neighborhood engagement, parent group activities, and invitational programming designed to grow participation and deepen local ties. ($4,000)
