
Awarded to congregations engaging in programmatic initiatives of evangelism and congregational transformation and growth
Congregational Transformation grants support Presbyterian congregations in fostering evangelism, renewal, and growth. These grants are designed to empower congregations to create and implement innovative programs that deepen discipleship, strengthen spiritual vitality, and enhance congregational life. The goal of these funds is to help churches respond faithfully to their unique contexts while preparing for long-term growth and transformation.

Criteria
- Core Values – Programs should reflect the Presbytery of Baltimore’s priority that churches and their leaders thrive, emphasizing evangelism, spiritual growth, and congregational vitality.
- Innovation – Initiatives should demonstrate creative approaches to transformation and
outreach, offering fresh ideas for strengthening ministry. - Impact Potential – Programs must have clear goals and measurable outcomes that
demonstrate spiritual growth, increased participation, or strengthened congregational
identity. - Sustainability – Proposals should include (when applicable) a plan for sustaining the
initiative beyond the grant period. - Inclusivity – Initiatives that promote diversity, equity, and inclusion within the congregation and its ministries are strongly encouraged.
Use of Funds
Grant Range: $3,000 – $10,000 per award. Grant funds can be used for:
- Program Development – Creating and launching evangelism, discipleship, or congregational transformation initiatives.
- Training and Leadership Development – Equipping church leaders and members with skills and tools for effective ministry and spiritual formation.
- Technology and Resources – Investing in tools and materials necessary to implement and sustain programs, such as software, audiovisual equipment, or printed materials.
- Staffing Support – Hiring part-time or temporary staff to assist in implementing the initiative. These grants aim to help congregations thrive, transforming their ministries through innovative approaches.
These grants reflect the Presbytery of Baltimore’s commitment to equipping congregations for meaningful transformation and faithful witness, empowering them to grow and thrive in their unique callings.
A report evaluating the use of funds is required at six months and one year after the award. Congregations may not receive additional Enduring Witness funding until the report is submitted.
