The Rev. Michael Moore has announced to the Cabinet that he will not be able to accept the role of Moderator leading the Presbytery, due to accepting a call to the Presbyterian Mission Agency in Louisville as the African American Intercultural Associate.
Michael has served for nine years as Pastor of Knox Presbyterian Church, and in the Presbytery on the Gathering Team, Steering Cabinet, as Vice Moderator for the past year, and as ministry group leader. He has also been a leading voice in helping the presbytery to engage in conversation about racism and in the establishment of the Dismantling Racism Training.
Although he was excited and looking forward to being our new Moderator, it took much prayer, discernment and consideration to follow a different call by continuing his work empowering African American churches and the ministry of reconciliation focusing on racism and justice issues.
We wish Michael well, and know that he will be a blessing to our denomination, just as he has been in the Presbytery of Baltimore.
