Highland Presbyterian Church was so glad to host the recent Gathering of the Presbytery of Baltimore. We were so glad to welcome many of you both in person and via the Zoom platform. Our folks worked hard to prepare the facility both inside and outside. Hosting the Presbytery is like having company. It causes you to clean your house. In fact, that was our rallying cry as we anticipated your arrival. “Company is Coming” was our motivation.
But we have to acknowledge our Susquehanna Parish Ministry Group for their support and assistance. We felt we might need extra assistance just like many of our aging congregations might feel in hosting the whole Presbytery, so we appealed for help from the larger group. We received joyful support in response.
Consider this an encouragement for any of our churches to seek the joy of hosting the Presbytery. Since even in-person meetings are now hybrid, it is very doable to host a Gathering.
It was also a personal joy that our Dismantling Racism Team presented our Reparative Justice Fund Proposal at this meeting. May justice flow down like the waters!
Faithfully yours,
– Pastor Ray Meute, Jr.
