Dismantling Racism: A Continuous Journey
The Dismantling Racism: A Continuous Journey workshop takes place Tuesday, October 7, 2025, at First & Franklin Presbyterian Church, from 8:30 am – 4 pm, lunch included.
The workshop will be facilitated by Dr. Sarah Doerrer and Ruling Elder Charese Jordan Moore.
There are 4 main objectives:
+ Continue to broaden and deepen our understanding of how racism and white supremacy shape us as individuals and as church institutions (local churches and presbytery, in particular)
+ Focus in on institutional culture, historical harm, repentance and repair (particular areas of current importance within the presbytery)
+ Provide opportunity for individual reflection & analysis
+ Support the development of a personalized action plan for each participant.
The Presbytery’s Dismantling Racism Team continues to update this one-day workshop designed for Teaching Elders as well as those preparing for ministry, Presbytery staff and leaders. It is also recommended for congregational leaders, honorably retired pastors and members of any Presbytery committee or commission.
