The town of Iguara is located in the province of Sancti Spiritus with
a population of about 4,000 people. It is about 4km from our other
partner church, Meneses. It has a primary and secondary school; students
travel
to Meneses to attend the pre‐university high school. It is a
rural community with agriculture and a cheese and butter factory as the
primary industries.

Founded and organized as a church in 1949
The Iguara Presbyterian Church has about 24 members and others who
attend regularly. The church is growing, provides programs for children
and youth and is active in the community. It was organized in 1991 but
members met in a home beginning in 1949. The sanctuary was built in 1999 and the churches’ anniversary is March 12.

- Laundry Program for senior citizens
- Food program for elderly
- Sewing project
Connections:
Worship and study ‐ weekly worship, Bible study, prayer services. Children and Youth are included in worship leadership. Children and Youth ‐ Christian Education program and Youth activities. Lester has initiated a Sunday School program for two disabled young girls in the community. The older youth include the disabled children when possible. A large Christmas pageant involving over 20 children is held every year.
