ITL Growing Our Community of Faith The in the Loop / Apostles /Disciples ministry group is a collection of (12) churches in and around Baltimore city. In the beginning of 2018 The in the Loop ministry group decided to merge with “The Apostles Disciples” ministry a spontaneous ministry group that wanted to seize on the energy around race, class and poverty and support of Presbytery mission themes. The merger centered round four concentrated areas of ministry:
- Creating safe space of courageous space for dialogue and conversations.
- Sponsoring action events in the community of our respective churches.
- confronting racism and injustice and racial reconciliation.
- supporting positive changes in our Presbytery.
Creating a Culture of Generosity
Do you long for your church’s members to enjoy the spiritual rewards of a generous life?
Are you living in a state of scarcity and longing for abundance?
Do you long for your church’s members to enjoy the spiritual rewards of a generous life?
The Presbyterian Foundation and the Board of Pensions have collaborated to create an interactive seminar designed to help you move your church from conducting a traditional stewardship campaign to building a year-round, spiritually-based culture of generosity.
“Generosity springs from the conviction that God owns everything and that we are temporary managers of His treasures,” said Kevin Garvey of the Presbyterian Foundation, who created the seminar for the benefit of church leaders wishing to make a change in their stewardship approach. “In the seminar, we have small group breakouts to cover topics such as bringing your budget alive, celebrating generosity in worship and strengthening members’ generosity relationships with God. The small group set-up works out beautifully.”
You will walk away from this seminar with ideas on organizing your generosity/ stewardship leadership group, communicating with the different generations that exist in your congregation, integrating all aspects of your church into the life of generosity, and teaching the spirituality of generosity. Be prepared to evaluate your current program, and walk away with a new excitement and energy about generosity for the future of your church.
