From the General Presbyter
There are a few things happening behind the scenes at the Presbytery of Baltimore’s office that need to be highlighted. First, we want to welcome Rev. Jose Lopez as our part-time consultant with the Commission of Reconciliation. Jose is currently the pastor of Communidad, a new worshipping community sponsored by the Bay Area Disciples Ministry Group. He will start August 1.
Second, we will soon welcome the new Associate for Church and Leadership, when the way is clear! This person will start at the end of August. Both of these folks will need time to “on-board” before “hitting the ground running (or Zooming!)”
Third, the office is still operating primarily virtually. Meaning, staff are working from our homes with occasional scheduled visits to the physical office. This means we have limited access to files and do most of our collective work on Zoom. We will revisit “in-office hours” on Labor Day. Please note that our Administrative Staff are operating with the following priorities:
- Processing necessary invoices
- Responding to time sensitive inquiries
- Posting time sensitive information
Other requests, for example, extensive research on accounts and property, design work on future projects or researching material already posted on our website will be answered as soon as time permits. Our only full-time staff are Felicia Scott and myself.
We have an amazing group, working diligently to “encourage, challenge and equip” our churches and leaders during COVID-19. And we look forward to the new folks joining our tribe!
