From the General Presbyter
So how do we adapt?
I spoke about the importance of adapting in my address to the Gathering last month. An online dictionary defines adaption as:
“Any alteration in the structure or function of an organism or any of its parts that results from natural selection and by which the organism becomes better fitted to survive and multiply in its environment.”
This represents a biological definition but is apropos to what is happening live in our world and in our presbytery. The key word jumping out at me is “fitted.” Though some adaptation takes eons, others transform more quickly, especially in a crisis.
Since we are in a crisis, how can we be better “fitted” to meet the challenges of our pastors, leaders, and communities? How can we be better “fitted” to share and live out the gospel not only for survival but to multiply?
My simple answer: Believe that we need to.
