From the General Presbyter
Gratitude is not a platitude!
Sometimes we are told to just be grateful and thankful for all the blessings, blah, blah, blah, and yet many of us are not feeling the thankful vibe as much.
But I am! I want to take this opportunity to thank the churches, the staff and leaders of the Presbytery of Baltimore. We are entering the new year of the church and the old one was crazy, to put it simply. You have inspired me! You adapted, in fits and starts. You attended zoom meetings until your eyes ached. You invited each other to virtual worship and hosted virtual events. You shared creative videos and kept in touch with partners near and far.
You sent money and raised money. You preached and prayed and marched and blogged. You solved problems and stepped into new ones with courage and conviction. You struggled and burned out, then found another small candle to keep you going. You social distanced with one another and committed to keep one another safe.
We’ve got six more months, we hope, until we all are safe. Hang tough, keep the faith, find the thankful vibe – we did it before – we can do it again.
You are awesome and I am grateful.
Happy Thanksgiving.
