Susquehanna Parish News
The eleven churches of the Susquehanna Ministry Group are working together to feed 10,000 people on February 27, 2021.
“Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.”
– Matthew 25:40
Those words from Jesus are the driving force behind the Susquehanna Parish event to be held on February 27, 2021 at Grove Presbyterian in Aberdeen, MD. That is the day parish members will come together to package at least 10,000 meals as part of the Rise Against Hunger (RAH) program. The cost to provide a meal for a person is only 35 cents per day.
After packaging, the Rise Against Hunger organization will ship the meals to a needy country to primarily be used as lunches for students attending their partner schools. Sometimes, this is the only meal these students receive each day. The goal of RAH is to wipe out worldwide hunger by the year 2030. What better way to achieve that goal than to educate the world’s children so that they can rise out of poverty?
Because of COVID concerns, the packaging will occur in shifts of 1.5 hours each. Sanitizing will occur after each shift.
Anyone who would like to volunteer to work a shift, or make a donation towards the effort, can visit the RAH event webpage.
