Cherry Hill Community Presbyterian Church was awarded Community Engagement Grants in 2021 and 2023. The seeds of these investments, combined with neighborhood listening, strident planning, and thoughtful implementation has enabled the Church to sustain these programs ever since.

This ministry was started as the result of a member who wanted to feed families during the COVID-19 pandemic. We have since grown to be a vital provider of food and toiletries to the residents of Cherry Hill.

We give each family two bags of food which include nonperishable items such as rice beans and canned vegetables. We also provide frozen meat that we receive from the Maryland Food Bank. We give these bags to 60 families on the third Saturday of each month. Because of our consistency, our families depend on us especially when other government agencies have drastically cut their funding.

We have also been blessed to have a Clothes Closet where residents can “shop for free” and pick out things that will help them stretch those necessary dollars. The men who come are especially grateful that they can find a suit or sport coat that they can wear to their next job interview. In addition, we supply toiletries such as laundry detergent, body wash, deodorant and shaving razors.
