The Commission on Spiritual Leader Development is offering the opportunity to join Zoom calls focused on the challenges of congregational ministry in the midst of the the COVID-19 pandemic—issues such as working from home with kids, meeting pastoral care needs in your congregation, and just taking care of yourself.
On each call, a coach will serve to keep the conversations on track and elicit creative problem solving from the group. Numbers will be limited in order the maximize participation from each person on the call. Sign up for a group by registering below.
The calls will take place on Thursdays, 2:00 pm to 3:30 pm. The schedule is listed below:
April 16 : BOUNDARIES WORKING FROM HOME
The challenges of working from home vary widely, from juggling computer
use with a spouse and children to dealing with loneliness and isolation. We
are offering two groups to discuss this issue:
• Group 1: Boundaries when working from home with kids (Limit 10)
• Group 2: Boundaries when working from home (Limit 10)
April 23 : CONGREGATIONAL LEADER MASTERMIND GROUP (Clergy and Lay Leaders) (Limit 10)
It is critical, in this moment of global crisis, for us to think creatively and
learn from the wisdom of our peers. Following the model of executive
mastermind programs, you will have the opportunity to bring an issue that
feels urgent or around which you have energy, and the group (facilitated by a coach) will partner with you in thinking about how to move forward. This
group will meet together on the 23rd and again on May 6.
April 29 : PASTORAL CARE AND COVID-19 (Limit 10)
What if someone in my congregation gets sick? What do I do about funerals
at this time? How can I be available to my congregation without burning out myself? Social distancing presents unique challenges to pastoral care. Join a conversation to focus on these challenges along with other colleagues.
