Travel Scholarships
Participation in a Guatemala Partnership trip is an experience that enriches not only our lives, but our congregations and ministries. By offering scholarships, it is the hope that financial limitations are not a barrier to participating in this important experience.
Several sources of partial scholarships are available to support participation in the Guatemala Partnership’s trips to Guatemala. If you are seeking scholarship assistance, it is suggested that you also inquire if your home church or ministry group has a budget for mission trip scholarships that you might be eligible for before applying to any of these.
- Guatemala Partnership – Partial scholarships, in general up to $500.00 per person are available. Word Application – Pdf Application
- Herbert D. Valentine Millennium Fund – This fund is granted to individuals engaging in mission studies and to groups planning to strengthen their faith community’s efforts to “care for the least of these.” Application and info
- Robert J. Turner Memorial Fund: This memorial fund is established to enable young members of churches in the Presbytery to participate in foreign or domestic mission projects aimed at expanding understanding of the diverse nature of Jesus Christ’s Kingdom. Application and info

Who is CEDEPCA?
The Protestant Center for Pastoral Studies in Central America (CEDEPCA) is an educational institution that contributes to the transformation of lives and social environments by providing training, community, and spaces for reflection to women and men from diverse Christian traditions, communities, and contexts. Their mission has four prongs: Disaster Ministry, Intercultural Encounters, Women’s Ministry, and Biblical and Theological Education.
“My visit to CEDEPCA was a life changing trip. I traveled with compelling people from the Presbytery and I met engaged and committed people to the goals and programs of CEDEPCA. I had the opportunity to meet many local Guatemalans who shared their inspiring stories of resilience and hope. I learned how CEDEPCA supports girls, women, people preparing for disaster, and migrants facing danger. The programming for our trip was organized and thoughtful.”
– Lori, Ark and Dove Pres.
Baltimore Presbytery Partnership
In 2015, the Presbytery of Baltimore began a 5-year partnership with CEDEPCA that is still ongoing! Many people within the Baltimore Presbytery have gotten to know Cedepca through intercultural encounter trips and virtual programming.
