897th Gathering of Presbytery
The next Gathering of Presbytery is Saturday, November 12, 2022, at 10 am.
NOTICE: THE 897th GATHERING WILL BE ENTIRELY ONLINE.
(Not Hybrid, as originally announced)
The 225th General Assembly has sent to the presbyteries a number of proposed changes to the Book of Order that must be voted on by July 2023. Baltimore Presbytery will consider them over the next three scheduled meetings.
ALL of the proposed amendments are contained in the booklet “Proposed Amendments from the 225th GA” which can be found on the presbytery website and with the meeting papers for each Gathering. There is also a list of the proposed amendments with a brief description. (Thanks to Greg Goodwiller of St. Andrew’s presbytery). Some amendments will be included in consent motions and some will be voted on separately. It is very important that you review those amendments to be considered PRIOR to the Gathering where they will be voted on.
At the November 12th Gathering we will vote on the proposed amendments to the Foundations of Presbyterian Polity and the Directory of Worship.
There are many more proposed amendments than usual because so much business was referred to the 225th GA by the 224th due to the pandemic. I am trying to organize this important work in a way that makes it as straightforward as possible but please don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions.
Blessings in this season,
Mary Gaut, Stated Clerk
